Andrew Cunanan

Andrew Cunanan was born August 31, 1969. Although Cunanan had a mother, he was primarily raised by his father was a marine.  Cunanan attended a private school in San Diego where he showed his gay attention-seeking behaviors.  He was very open about his sexuality a deemed by classmates to never be forgotten.  His father was accused of fraud, this made his father flee to the Philippines.  Andrew soon joined him but realized that it was not the place for him; so he moved back to San Francisco where they were more open to homosexuality. This is where it is said that he met Gianni Versace which would eventually lead to the the death of both of them.  He also met his lover David Madison, and the man who had an affair with Jeffery Trail.  Cunanan became involved heavily in drugs becoming less interested in his own self appearance.

Jealousy soon took over Cunanan's life.  His lover, David Madison, moved to Minneapolis; when Cunanan visited Madison he realized that his other former lover Trail also lived there.  Cunanan formulated the assumption that they were having an affair.  He invited Trail to Madison's apartment where a heated argument broke out leading to Cunanan brutally beating and killing Trail.  This forced Andrew and madison to flee the city. A few hours away Madison's body was found, he was killed by a 40. caliber handgun. The next stop along the homicidal route was a 72 yr. old man who had no relation with Cunanan but was vary wealthy.  Many believe he was just murdered to allow Andrew to get money and a new vehicle. The final murder was the one that sent his media ratings through the roof. This is what he always wanted to be known and famous. He moved down to miami,Fl leaving in a beach front kinda run down hotel.  A few miles away lived a famous fashion designer Gianni Versace, no one truly knows the motive behind Cunanan but especially this murder. As the designer Versace was returning home Cunanan walked up behind him and shot him twice in the head. This was the final murder of Andrew Cunanan before he was on a house boat surrounded by s.w.a.t. Before the s.w.a.t could reach Cunanan he had turned the gun on himself.

The motive behind Cunanan's killings will never be determined.  Was there even a true reason or was this an irate killing spree that took 4 random peoples lives.  He was said to be smart and clean-cut.  He was never said to be made fun of despite his sexuality. He also used drugs heavily, so was this the aftermath of a drug usage.  The truth will never be known.

Herman Webster Mudgett

Mudgett was born in 1861, his father was said to be very strict and abusive at times. Mudgett was bullied at an early age by his classmates, little did they know this would turn his fear in to an obsession that would lead to murdering.  Mudgett started his deviant behavior when he started stealing bodies from University of Michigan where he attended medical school.  His deviant acts turned criminal when he started collecting insurance money, by saying that the bodies were killed accidentally. This lead to his serial killing.

After medical school,He changed his name to Dr. Henry Howard Holmes and started working at a pharmacy. He soon convinced the wife of the store owner, a man who was suffering from cancer, to sell it to him.  Shortly after buying the pharmacy he became very successful, which intern he started building and purchasing places.  He built one rather large  building people deemed "The Castle". The bottom of the castle was Mudgett's pharmacy and above it was a series of hallways and doors that were odd and sometimes lead to no where.  This is where Mudgett carried out his murders.  He lured people in by stating it was a hotel which it was simple not.  There were chutes, chambers and hidden torture areas.  He also had many female employees which he would make sure they had life insurance.  He would soon kill them but before that he would sign his life insurence of to him.  He then after would dissect or sell the bodies to medical research facilities.  He was finally caught when he created a plan to have a man fake there own death in order to collect insurance money for his wife.  Mudgett ended up truly killing the man and was tried and found guilty for the murder. He admitted to murdering up to 200 people.  When police returned to the castle there was remains of hundreds of people.  He was sentenced to death by hanging.

Mudgett was a interesting serial killer because he did not only have a fascination with bodies that lead to murdering, he had a greed problem too.  He would always try and make money off the individuals he murdered.  He was also relatively smart about how he concealed his murders.  He made everything seem as if it was a hotel not a murders den.  Mudgett was on of the first documented serial killers.

Albert Fish

Albert Fish was born May 19, 1870 in Washington D.C. His family had a history of mental illness. He is said to be one of the the kindest looking guy, but underlying that shell he was a very deranged man.  Fish committed nearly 400 heinous acts all the way up to torture, murder, rape and cannibalism.  He prayed only on young children, since he had a nice guy appeal on the outside many people trusted him. Is fish an example of truly being born with a mental condition, or was he poorly taken care of as a child.

Fish became an orphan at a young age.  At the orphanage fish was exposed to many horrendous things such as brutal beatings and sexual acts.  At the age of 7 his mother accepted him back.  Fish went on to graduate high school and started working odd jobs.  Fish even went on to get married and father children.  However when his wife left him with the children he asked them if they wanted to take part in his pain enduring pleasure.  In 1910, Albert Fish committed his first murder in which he tortured before he murdered his victim.  He then went on to paddle kids with a paddle that had nails pounded through it.

The murder before he got caught:  An 18 yr old boy was looking for a part-time job to help his family.  Albert Fish claimed he was a farmer looking for a strong individual to help him.  He met with the family in order to gain tight ties with the parent making him seem trust worthy. The Budd family was about to learn how deceitful he was.  One time when Fish was suppose to pick the boy up for work he showed up but claimed he had to leave to go to a birthday party for a child. Albert invited the youngest daughter in the family Grace Budd along with him; seeming so trust worthy they let her go along.  Only if the budd family new that this would be the last time they would ever.  He sent a note that vividly depicted the torture murder and cannibalism to the family.

Once caught and put on trial, Fish claimed that he was drawn to commit his acts because the voices in his head told him too.  However the jury found him guilty and deemed there were no voices.  He was sentenced to the electric chair.  I believe that was he saw in the orphanage lead him to try and get revenge in a twisted way.  He got pleasure committing his demented crimes.
